Tons of information is being published. keeping track is almost impossible. You waste too much time openingyour favorite sites. This is the old way. With RSS, new information comes to you.
All you have to do is look for the orange widget and you subscribe for that sites' feeder. When the site has a new entry, your newsreader will let you know. It will save much time and energy. In class I could use to follow st's blogs and teach them how to have their own reader.
Here is the smart suggestion I read in our e-class
Make comments with constructive feedback, say what you liked about the post, suggest, give ideas, share your personal experience
Reading a good comment is motivating, writing one... another skill to practice altogether...
If reading a comment is the best part of blogging, writing a comment is the most challenging!
Be patient, read and answer feeling eager to communicate and connect!.
I've been really lucky lately.
I've been lucky because I'm home learning how to connect with my newborn.
I've been lucky because I'm home learning how to connect with people I haven't even "met", but respect greatly.
I had only read a single blog before web2.0 for educators, it was a diary blog, and I have to confess that I wasn't very excited about it.
I had 2 class blogs and I have to confess that I was even less excited about them.
It had to put a lot of effort to get students commenting, they looked at me as telling me ok... I'm gonna do it because YOU want me to. That's not true blogging is it? It sounded to me as something great in theory - having an audience for students writings, purpose, promoting opportunity for self assessing and so on. But in class... a different story.
And then... as I'm reading post after post I've come across treasures and find myself wondering how I could live without blogs, networking, connecting, web2.0 for educators and all the people in this group.
I've found treasures that made me realize how engaging a blog can be.
I've been lucky because I'm home and I learning from a blog post on http://www.blogger.com/profile/06467041558229679912 that made me a happier person.
A public school student from a poor community in Rio writes an open letter to his mayor! This kid understands that he's part of the puzzle, he has voice, he is responsible and has the means to make a difference.collaborate, share, interact meaningfully.
I've been very lucky indeed. I have to cheer for educators who go out of their ways to guide students into a whole new world of possibilities, learning experiences and growing opportunities.
I believe I'm starting to grasp the idea of what blogging with students or anyone else is all about. I cannot say the same when comes to how to blog. As far as I'm concerned it's really worth it.
Let's blog it up!

Amazing the way we find what's right for us when we need it the most.
A good example is my finding this interview about how to write a blog just minuttes before I read Dennis comment calling my attention to the fact that writing a blog is a challenge for many reasons. We are teachers who love teaching, but we also have tons of other things to do! I'm a mother of three and being a good mom is my top priority. so thanks dennis for the insight and "destiny" to put this interview on my lap today.
many of the tools are new for me. I feel like trying some of them out. My next thing is gonna be a wiki, I'd also love to try my way with moodle. Using the three of them together as this presentation suggests still seems insane. Some weeks ago I'd say impossible... But right now I feel like superwoman! Of course only possible with some help from my friends.
oh... one more thing, writing a blog is not that difficult is it?
Great article I came across while reading Carla's twitter. I decided to take some notes and experiment with the tool. Please click on add a sticky to read or write your insights.
This worshop by Ade Oliveira was presented at least 4 years ago.
I find it to be really inspirational especially after wathing the videos on emerging technologies.
Hope it helps us answer some questions that all this explosion of information raised.
